Tortilla de Chorizo

I took back to my hotel a light dinner from Algeria's. All the things were delicious, specially the tortilla con chorizo. I felt I was in Spain again. The owners were so gracious and welcoming. The flan was silky smooth. The empanaditas were very flavorful and delicious. I enjoyed everything specially Angelline and Armando. I tip my hat to the Chef

Manchego Flambeado

Wow! Algeria's is awesome. My friend always tells me this is his favorite place but hasn't been in a couple years. We walked in to learn of new ownership and he got nervous, despite the chef and other staff who are still there for over 20 years! The menu is amazing and everything we had was delicious. Special shoutout to the flambayed manchego (a must for anyone who likes cheese), the aioli potatoes were done just right and not doused in sauce. The potato cubes were perfectly crispy and the aioli added great flavor. The Spanish sausages each had their own flavor and were so good (especially atop some of the fresh bread and dipped in the delicious olive oil). We also really enjoyed the beef empanadas and the paella Valenciana. Top it off with an excellent Tempranillo and we were in heaven, smiling after every sip and bite. The setting is so relaxing and the service (Arman) was terrific. I honestly can't wait to go back, even if I'm by myself. There's also a really convenient parking garage just across the street that doesn't cost much so no worries about looking for parking if you drive over. Algeria's is a must for those who enjoy Spanish food and tapas.

Paella de Verduras

THE place to go for fantastic paella! The ambience is very welcoming - you feel like you're at the owner's home. Every dish was excellent, as was the Spanish wine. We make it a point to come here whenever we're in SF.

Croquetas de Jamon Iberico y Gamba

I long for hot summer nights in Madrid, sipping a vermú outside in the plaza and enjoying tapas while laughing with friends. Alegrias is one of few places in SF that takes me back there with it's authentic Spanish food and friendly atmosphere. A staple in Spanish bars and restaurants, but which can vary greatly in quality, are croquetas, and many places in Spain are judged by the quality of their croquetas. The croquetas at Alegrias are divine, just the right balance of fillings with a light, crispy coating. Perfect for pairing with a glass of Rioja. Buen provecho!

Paella a la Marinera

We had the Paella, Pulpo and the Tortilla Espanola - I ordered online, the food was ready early, which was great. Each dish was excellent, the Paella especially was jam-packed with fish, shrimp, calamari, mussels, clams. I would highly recommend it!

Calamares Fritos con Aioli

One of my best dining experience from start to finish. We showed up late with a large group. They prepared a place for us in a few short minutes. We had the best Sangria, wonderful appetizers and the best Paella. However, the Calamares Fritos blew us away. I could eat them everyday! Thank you for such a wonderful experience for all of us!

Pitcher

Had a great time at Alegrias with my group! We ordered lots of tapas and shared many pitchers of sangria, all of which was delicious. The service made the experience even better! Have been recommending this place to everyone and can't wait to return!

Paella a la Marinera

I told the owner - "best paella I've ever had" ... she said " oh , good, this side of Spain "... no, I've been to Spain many times and did not find any better !

Espinacas a la Catalana

A delicious healthy option :) and it truly is the traditional Catalan recipe - love having meals from my home country here in SF.
